Stem Cell Therapy

Stem cell therapy involves using the most fundamental building blocks in your body to renew or regenerate cells that have been damaged by injury or the simple process of aging. The peptides and cytokines that your body uses to signal and heal cells are produced by the stem cells, and are introduced into areas with damaged tissue. Recently it was discovered that by taking stem cells from the Wharton’s jelly found in a donated umbilical cord, medical professionals can harness this power of regeneration for healing.

While there is no way to actually turn back the clock or drink from the fountain of youth, a medical therapy using stem cell injections can result in regeneration of the damaged tissue, eliminating the source of pain you are suffering from instead of just masking it. Instead of invasive procedures or use of pain medication, stem cell therapy has the benefit of helping your body grow new tissue to replace that which has been damaged by time and injury, potentially relieving the patient of the pain and immobility and countless other problems associated with tissue problems.

Where Do Stem Cells Come From?

Stem cells can be derived either from adults or from the Wharton’s jelly found in donated umbilical cords. In adults, stem cells can be harvested either from adipose tissue or from bone marrow. Both of these extraction methods are relatively invasive, but do ensure that the cells originate within the subject’s own body, cutting down on immunosuppression. The cells are produced so that the body can regenerate tissues and keep itself in good maintenance as a machine.

Another type of stem cell is Wharton’s Jelly derived mesenchymal stem cells. These are harvested from a substance called Wharton’s jelly found within donated umbilical cords. This process avoids ethical concerns typically associated with the use of stem cells, and guarantees that these particular cells are free from the effects of aging that can affect adult harvested stem cells.

Letting Stem Cells Do What They Do Naturally

In the United States, stem cell procedures are bound by strict FDA regulations. These regulations discourage the systemic use of stem cells in the body. Meaning, doctors are unable to perform procedures with stem cells for diseases or disorders relating to the whole body. This restricts them to treating only localized parts of the body. However, INVIMA, Colombia's National food and drug surveillance institute, allows for the processing of these stem cell tissues so they can be used systemically though intravenous administration. Unlike the states, our stem cells are never frozen, or cryopreserved. At Mama Cells, stem cells are allowed to do what they do naturally, proliferate or reproduce rapidly. This proliferation increases the number of stem cells drastically, allowing for powerful healing. The usual dose at Infinity has a stem cell count that is 20 times higher than a dose in the states.

In addition, Mama Cells utilizes a state of the art genetics lab on its property. This lab holds a high standard and test the DNA and Chromosomes of the donated tissues. This is a test that is not required in the United States.
